No database component to iworks?

If iworks is the new Appleworks, why isn't there a database component?

That's a question to ask Apple by leaving feedback for either the Pages team or the Numbers team.

Although there is no database application, Numbers includes many of the features of a flatfile database such as Appleworks, including the ability to filter and sort data. It also includes checkboxes and drop-down lists.

The layout options aren't there. Nor can you merge from Numbers into Pages.
